Leh, Apr 08: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has approved age relaxation for candidates from areas adjoining the Actual Line of Control (ALC) for the upcoming recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in the Ladakh Police.
The candidates from ALC areas will now be eligible for an enhanced age relaxation of 5+2 years, raising the upper age limit from 28 years to 35 years for the recruitment process.
The decision comes in response to multiple representations and long-standing demands from aspirants residing in these remote and strategically significant regions.
Saxena stated that challenges such as difficult terrain, inadequate infrastructure etc should not become barriers to the aspirations of the youth. “I firmly believe that such constraints must not hinder the future of our youths,” he said.
He said the initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure equal opportunities and fair representation for candidates from ALC areas in Ladakh Police and in other departments. The decision has been widely welcomed by aspirants and other concerned stakeholders.
